Gently integrated amongst a stunning natural landscape only minutes from the oceanfront and downtown amenities, Finch Drive’s duplex and townhomes surpass current energy-based building codes: They are Net Zero Ready, Step Code 5, solar power-ready, feature geothermal heating/cooling, and operate with zero emissions. With the addition of solar panel upgrades these homes are fully Net Zero.

The pioneering new homes from Diamond Head Development will boast over-height ceilings and wide-plank, engineered oak hardwood in the main living areas, heated floor ensuites, and energy-friendly electric fireplaces. Outside, expansive decks and patios lead to spacious yards and accessible trails.

What is a Net Zero home?

Net Zero homes produce as much energy and they consume, are more comfortable, healthier, and affordable to heat – and approximately 50 per cent more energy efficient than traditionally built homes.

Each duplex or townhome will be built to Step Code 5, and feature solar power-ready design, geothermal heating/cooling, triple pane windows, glass slider doors, electric appliances, and more – all of which translates into huge savings for you and your family.

“Climate change is a global problem. Our resolve to make a difference is really quite simple,” says DHD president Jason Wood. “We want to take leadership and make a positive impact by building in the most environmentally-responsible manner possible.”

Designed by award-winning Stark Architecture, Finch Drive offers a stunning collection of 38 hillside homes against a lush forested backdrop with exceptional vistas of the Tantalus Range.

Curated by Sarah Marie Interior Designs, each of the 20 expansive West Coast-inspired duplexes (ranging from 2,654 to 2,751 square feet) and 18 townhomes (1,900 square feet) are thoughtfully designed for today’s lifestyle.

“The goal was to create a palette inspired by the view from the community,” says Sarah Lackey, principal at Sarah Marie Interior Designs. “I want the residents of Finch Drive to wake up every morning and be inspired by where they are living and the outdoor adventure that awaits and surrounds them.”

Squamish’s reputation as a world-class outdoor destination has established it as an attractive home for adventure-seekers, outdoor enthusiasts and nature-lovers alike.

With an extensive network of hiking and mountain bike trails at your doorstep, Finch Drive is ideally nestled in central Squamish, putting you within a 15-minute walk of spectacular restaurants, breweries, cafés, and downtown shops and services. And you can easily access Vancouver or Whistler in under an hour along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway.

A leader in ethically sustainable builds over the last two decades, locally owned Diamond Head Development has earned a reputation for being a green builder and developer.

“Our background is custom homes. Typically, we have repurposed homes rather than tearing them down,” says Wood. “For Finch Drive, we ethically dismantled five existing homes on the site, repurposing or recycling over 99 per cent of all materials, with less than $2,000 worth of materials going to the landfill.”
